Society of the promotion of open source technology
Society for the Promotion of Open Source Technology in Schools and UniversitiesThe aim of the Society for the Promotion of Open Source Technology in Schools and Universities is the promotion of open source technology among young people and the advancement of women in the IT sector.
We want to show the youth the benefits in the use of open source alternatives- instead of buying expensive software. Especially young women should be encouraged to experiment with the utilization of virtual space in order to eliminate gender bias. The advancement of women in the IT-sector will be one important step to equality.
Our projects only use open source software, therefore there are no hidden costs for schools and students. The Society itself will only assume a consultative role, but the last word will rest with the students themselves. The pedagogic focus of our project lies in the methodological and didactic approach to the processes of content knowledge accumulation. The students will not only acquire in-depth
knowledge on various contextual aspects of the late Middle Ages but, moreover, establish their own transeuropean study network. In order to accomplish a high degree of efficiency, participants will be guided through this process by experienced pedagogues.
A further dividend is the acquisition of skills in the fields of graphic and 3D design, as well as project management and communication.
